Campinoti hoping for Alice Team `factory´ move

Campinoti hoping for Alice Team `factory´ move

Alice Team boss confident of more Ducati support for 2009 season.

Elevated to the head organisational position in the Alice team midway through 2008, Paolo Campinoti presided over the satellite outfit´s two podium finishes with Toni Elias. Both the Spaniard and former teammate Sylvain Guintoli have now left the structure, but Campinoti is staying on as part of a new regime set up by Ducati Corse.

Ducati MotoGP Project Manager Livio Suppo has previously gone on record with a plan to provide more factory support for the satellite riders, and Campinoti feels that this could set the wheels in motion for a big step forward for the Alice Team.

`We are expecting more involvement from Ducati in the team in 2009. The technical part of the team will change to be taken care of by them, and this may make us more `factory´ than `satellite´, says the Italian, who nonetheless could draw many positives from the 2008 season.

`The year didn´t start too well, but we recovered. Two podiums and the end result of the team ultimately leave us satisfied with our work, and we can look forward to next season. We have two new riders in Mika Kallio and Niccolo Canepa, and we are expecting good results from them.´
