Faubel confident of competitiveness in 2009

Thai Honda rider eager to test new machine after postponed Valencia outing.

250cc star Hector Faubel is yet to test the Honda RSW with which he will undertake the 2009 season, but the Spaniard is still confident of a competitive season with his new Thai Honda team.

Scheduled to test the bike for the first time last week in Valencia, Faubel had his debut postponed due to a bout of tonsillitis suffered by Team Manager Eduardo Perales. With the winter testing ban now in place, the former 125cc World Championship runner-up will have to wait until 2009 to try out the Japanese bike.

`It will be a year in which we will have to work hard, and for that reason I want to start getting settled into the team as quickly as possible,´ says Faubel.

`I´m itching to try my new bike, because everyone is telling me how good it is. My moment will come, but for now I just have to keep my fitness up and enjoy the day-to-day life that I haven´t had the chance to live during the season.

When the leathers come back on, the 25 year-old is expecting big things from the 2009 season, as he explains.

`My main objective is to have fun with the bike and the team, so that we can both be at 100%. If we can do that then I am sure that we will be competitive and at the top end of the action.´
