Sunday, 4 May 2008

The motogp.com statisticians pick out the key points of interest in the 125cc class before Sunday´s racing commences.

- If Bradley Smith wins the race it would be the first win by a British rider in the 125cc class since Chas Mortimer won at Jarama in Spain in 1973 riding a Yamaha. - Nicolas Terol starts from the front row for the third successive race and will be aiming for a third successive podium finish.

- Mike di Meglio has qualified on the front row for just the fourth time in his GP career in what will be his 78th GP start.

- Reigning World Champion Gabor Talmacsi starts from the front row for the third time this year.

- Andrea Iannone has qualified in his best ever grid position (fifth) – his previous best was seventh on the grid.

- If Simone Corsi wins in China he will become the first Italian rider to take three successive GP victories in the 125cc class since Marco Melandri back in 1999.
