Alice chief believes hard work will solve problems

With his Alice Team MotoGP riders commencing the season earning just four World Championship points between them at the opening two rounds, Luis d´Antin gave his views to motogp.com as to the reasons for some poor performances thus far in 2008.
In Qatar and at Jerez over the weekend both Ducati Desmosedici GP8-equipped Alice riders, Sylvain Guintoli and Toni Elias, struggled in free practice, qualifying and both races, to leave d´Antin with some serious issues to resolve as soon as possible.
`Frankly speaking it has not been good,´ commenced d´Antin. `In Qatar the track conditions and weather conditions were quite special, but to be honest after the race we were not really sure why we were not competitive there. But then here, the result was not good either, it was very bad.´
Commenting on the way forward the Spanish former World Championship participant continued, `It seems like all the Ducati riders have problems, Casey Stoner less so than the others. This is not an excuse, we just need to be objective and more clever about it. We have to analyse things and increase our work capacity.´
Adding his view that the team need help from the manufacturers supplying their 800cc race prototypes in order to increase their points tally, d´Antin went on, `Also, Ducati need to improve the bike a little bit. Just to have a bike that other riders can ride well, like Stoner.´
`But we are here and the season has just started. We´ll have to see, because the championship is very long.´
