Ankle fracture could rule Hopkins out of Assen race

John Hopkins´ participation in the A-Style TT Assen looks to be in doubt after the Kawasaki rider suffered a high speed crash in the final moments of the qualifying session. The Anglo-American had a long trip through the gravel after lowsiding his Ninja ZX-RR, picking up a small fracture to the internal medial malleolus of his left ankle.

Stretchered away from the scene of the crash, Hopkins was taken to the Clinica Mobile in a wheelchair for assessment of his condition, whilst he was able to walk up the steps of the facility, the rider was in obvious pain. His foot was set in a temporary cast by Dr. Claudio Costa, with confirmation as to whether he will play any further part in the Dutch race set to be made shortly.
