Big names support FIM environmental push

Fiat Yamaha´s Valentino Rossi was joined by Ducati Marlboro pair Casey Stoner and Marco Melandri, along with Rizla Suzuki duo Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen at a special photo-shoot on Friday evening at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya, to promote the protection of the environment.

The quintet of MotoGP stars lined up in special t-shirts featuring a green FIM logo with Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO, Dorna Managing Director Javier Alonso and the FIM´s Claude Danis, placing rubbish in some of the numerous recycling bins which are available for use at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The FIM was one of the first international sporting federations to sign an agreement with the United Nations Environmental Programme, at the end of 2006. The FIM have organised a number of celebrations during FIM World Championship events, following World Environment Day on Thursday, in order to underline the importance of protecting the environment.
