Blustery morning ahead of Donington race action

In storming to his first ever MotoGP title last year Casey Stoner proved his ability to win in all conditions and after his confident run to pole position this weekend at Donington Park the Australian will be hopeful of a second victory in 2008 today, despite the windy weather at the English circuit.

As a former resident of England´s Lake District Stoner is no stranger to the hardy British climate and he will hope to get away well from the front of the grid in this afternoon´s premier class contest at 3pm local time. The Ducati Marlboro rider will have current standings leader Valentino Rossi and Rizla Suzuki´s Chris Vermeulen – who have both also spent time living in the UK - chasing him down from the front row.

In the smaller classes pole men Simone Corsi and Alvaro Bautista will head out in the later than usual morning warm-ups hoping to perfect their set-ups for this afternoon´s action, with the 125cc race commencing at midday and the 250cc battle at 1.15pm.
