Carrillo to join Team FFM Honda for remainder of season

Following the results of the twelve 125cc rounds thus far in 2008, up to and including the Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, the French Motorcycle Federation (FFM) have analysed the performances of Team FFM Honda rider Louis Rossi and decided to replace him with another French youngster, Cyril Carrillo.

Despite his determination and hard work 19 year-old Rossi has not made the sort of progress hoped for at the start of the year and has been unable to record a single point-scoring finish.

The FFM´s aim with their MotoGP project is to promote young French talent and it has therefore been decided that 18 year-old Carrillo will get his World Championship break this weekend at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix and will remain with the team for the rest of the season.

Carrillo, who comes from Marseille, has made three Grand Prix wildcard appearances to date, at Sepang last season and at Estoril and Le Mans earlier this year. He has progressed through the national ranks in France, winning the 125cc `Challenge de l´Avenir´ and was also a participant in the 2007 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
