Friday, 24 October 2008

Sandro Cortese headed the opening 125cc practice session in Valencia with a 2´02.309 lap.

Emmi- Caffe Latte´s Sandro Cortese took the initiative in the 125cc class´ opening practice session at the Valencia circuit, snatching the top spot from Dominique Aegerter and Simone Corsi at the conclusion of the outing.

A late time of 2´02.309 brought Cortese under the 2´03 mark for the first time, one of only three riders to do so during the free practice session. Ajo Motorsport´s Aegerter and contender for the runner-up spot in the series Corsi were both split from Cortese and each other by a tenth of a second.

Outside the top three, Ricard Cardus surprised in his wild card appearance with the fourth fastest time of the morning. Riding for Andalucia Derbi, Cardus was the only other rider within a second of Cortese´s marker.

Raffaele de Rosa, Danny Webb, Esteve Rabat, Stefan Bradl, Loreno Zanetti and Stevie Bonsey also took places in the top ten, whilst I.C. Team substitute rider and European Champion Lorenzo Savadori was eleventh.
