Ahead of the single cylinder action at Brno the motogp.com statisticians take a close look at the 125cc grid.

- Gabor Talmacsi starts from pole for the second successive race. Talmacsi has only won once from his seven previous career pole positions – at the German GP last year.
- Nicolas Terol´s second place on the grid equals his best ever qualifying performance that he achieved in both Spain and China earlier this year.
- Andrea Iannone has qualified on the front row for the first time in his GP career in what will be his 54th GP start.
- Bradley Smith starts from the front row for the seventh time in 2008.
- Following his win in Germany, Mike di Meglio will be aiming to score back-to-back victories for the first time in his Grand Prix career. Di Meglio is the only rider in the 125cc class to have scored points in every race this year.
- The Brno lap record was set by Lucio Cecchinello in 2003 and is the longest standing current lap record in the 125cc class.
- Red Bull MotoGP Academy rider Jonas Folger, who turned 15 on Wednesday, is the youngest ever German rider to take part in a Grand Prix race.
