De Puniet confident for home race
Saturday, 17 May 2008
Starting from twelfth on the grid, LCR Honda´s Randy de Puniet has high expectations from his home race.
A different strategy in qualifying didn´t pay off for Frenchman Randy de Puniet, as he used his qualifying tyres early in Saturday´s shootout. The LCR Honda man now looks for a good start and a move through the field at his home race in Le Mans, starting from twelfth on the grid.
Randy de Puniet – 12th
`This morning was not so bad as we improved a lot the bike on race set-up and I lapped consistently fast. We started the afternoon session on qualifiers because of the incoming bad weather but my feeling was not good enough at the beginning. I was not aggressive enough. Then the feeling was much better, but I am a bit disappointed with the fourth row. Anyway, I feel confident for tomorrow´s race because my bike package is pretty good and we can ride with a good rhythm for the whole race.´ blockquote>
