Di Meglio heads 125cc morning standings
Frenchman Mike di Meglio asserted his home advantage in the second 125cc practice session at his home track.
Home rider Mike di Meglio was the quickest away in the Saturday morning 125cc session at Le Mans. The Frenchman clocked a time of 1´44.983 in damp conditions, onboard his Ajo Motorsport Derbi machine, to best reigning World Champion Gabor Talmacsi by four-tenths of a second.
Talmacsi had experienced problems in the Friday qualifying session, left using his second bike for the final four minutes of the run after a series of adjustments were deemed necessary to his first machine. The Hungarian could move his way up the grid this afternoon if his progress continues and the weather stays dry.
In third place was Talmacsi´s teammate in the Bancaja Aspar outfit; 2007 racewinner and yesterday´s provisional poleman Sergio Gadea. Jack&Jones WRB´s Nico Terol was the only other rider to go round within a second of Di Meglio.
Shanghai victor Andrea Iannone was fifth placed in the morning outing, ahead of Sandro Cortese, Raffaele De Rosa, Bradley Smith and Marc Marquez, who suffered a highside yesterday afternoon.
