Di Meglio heads 125cc warmup

125cc World Championship leader Mike di Meglio has a mountain to climb if he is to retain his advantage in the series today in Donington Park, starting from 20th on the grid. However, the Frenchman has the pace to make an impact, especially if rain hits the British circuit.

Di Meglio showed strong race pace in his nine-lap warmup for the afternoon showdown, with a fastest time of 1´40.088 some half a second faster than nearest foe Takaaki Nakagami.

Nakagami´s I.C. Team companion Andrea Iannone was third quickest, ahead of home rider Bradley Smith. Another Briton in the form of front row starter Scott Redding was a further place down on the pace setting Di Meglio.

In a change to the Donington schedule of recent years, the 125cc class is up first on the race day agenda.
