Donington Friday action commences in cool but stable conditions

Friday´s free practice sessions got underway at Donington with an overcast skyline typical of England´s often unpredictable June weather, the 125cc riders customarily commencing proceedings in cool temperatures.

Though rain may be a possibility later in the day it did not appear to be an imminent threat in the early hours, though conditions have changed rapidly at a number of Grand Prix events this season making the job of bike set-up a tricky task for the teams and their riders.

The morning MotoGP session will see the likes of Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and John Hopkins test their physical conditions after their respective Catalunya crashes, while Ben Spies will get his first run on the Rizla Suzuki GSV-R800 on a GP weekend, as he prepares for his World Championship debut in place of the injured Loris Capirossi.
