At the sharp end of the timesheets all weekend, Tech 3 Yamaha´s Colin Edwards rounded off his preparations for the Alice Grand Prix de France with the fastest lap of the MotoGP warmup.

The American is chasing his first victory in the premier class, and his 1´34.143 morning lap and consistent run in the 25 minute session confirmed that he will be in with a shout of stepping onto the top podium box in Le Mans. He edged out fellow front row starter Casey Stoner by 0.013.

Valentino Rossi was third fastest –the Fiat Yamaha rider heading row two in the afternoon showdown- ahead of poleman Dani Pedrosa and 2007 racewinner Chris Vermeulen.

Alice Team rider Toni Elias may have to use his second Desmosedici GP8 Sat in the Le Mans race, having seen vapour pour out of his number one machine during the warmup.
