Gadea reveals Qatar doubts on road to Jerez

Qatar racewinner Sergio Gadea faces another sprint to the line over the next few days, this time against the clock as he attempts to regain fitness for his home race in Jerez.
The current 125cc World Championship leader took his second victory in the class at Losail –the first night time Grand Prix in the series´ history- despite a dislocated collarbone that had Gadea contemplating withdrawal from the race weekend. In obvious pain in Parc Ferme, the Spaniard is now fully immersed in an intense rehabilitation schedule in his native Valencia.
`I was told to return home before the practice sessions in Qatar, but I managed to convince everybody to let me stay and watch. After treatment from the Clinica Mobile and Doctor Costa I decided to race, but was unsure as to whether I would receive an injection beforehand,´ said Gadea, who revealed that his triumph came without any painkilling treatment whatsoever.
`I chose not to have the injection, because I needed feeling in my hand. If I had taken it then I wouldn't have been able to get on the bike,´ said the gutsy Bancaja Aspar rider after the race.
Gadea now has his sights set on lining up on the Jerez grid in more comfortable condition, with a first home victory in the 125cc class and retention of his standings top spot a target for the second race of the season.
