German 125cc grid in focus

Ahead of the 125cc race at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland the business end of the single cylinder class grid is analysed by the motogp.com stats experts.

- Gabor Talmacsi starts from pole for the first time since the final race of 2007 at Valencia. Talmacsi has only won once from his previous six pole position starts – in Germany last year.

- Following his win at Assen, Gabor Talmacsi will be aiming to take back-to-back victories for the first time in his GP career.

- Bradley Smith starts from the front row for the sixth time in 2008.

- Stefan Bradl has equalled his best ever grid position which he achieved in Spain and again in France earlier this year. Bradl is the first home rider to start on the front row for a Grand Prix at the Sachsenring since Steve Jenkner was third on the grid for the 125cc race in 2004.

- Stefan Bradl will be aiming to be the first German rider in the 125cc class to win his home Grand Prix since Dirk Raudies at the Hockenheim circuit in 1994.

- Championship leader Mike di Meglio has scored just a single point from his four visits to the Sachsenring circuit, when he finished fifteenth last year.

- Tomoyoshi Koyama is starting from his best grid position since he was sixth on the grid in Sepang last year.
