Great comeback by Guintoli for sixth in German rain
Sunday, 13 July 2008
Making his way through the pack from fifteenth on the Sachsenring grid, Alice Team´s Sylvain Guintoli produced his best result of the season in Germany on Sunday.
The reactions of Sylvain Guintoli and Toni Elias from the Sachsenring, where the Frenchman got his best result thus far in 2008.
Sylvain Guintoli - sixth
`It was a good day for us. This has been a weekend of ups and downs. Friday we were really fast while yesterday, after the morning fall, I felt a lot of pain in my neck and qualifying did not go well. But todays race has gone much better, a pity only for the problem with the traction control. I preferred to switch it off to not risk it, so I had to play a lot with the accelerator and I had a lot of fun. I have to thank my Team, Ducati and Bridgestone as their support has been really important to get this result.´
Toni Elias - twelfth
`I think that with a wet track like today it is never easy. Probably we made a mistake with the set up of the bike because I felt a lot of weight on the front and I couldn´t handle the rear. Only in the last laps was I able to register acceptable lap times. This has probably been one of the worst performances I have done on a wet track. The data acquired will be useful if we get these track conditions again though. I remain positive and I will look for revenge in America.´
