Grid analysis for the 250cc Czech contest

- Marco Simoncelli starts from pole for the second successive race. Simoncelli has finished on the podium at the last six races.

- Alex Debon has equalled the second-place grid position he achieved last year at Brno before crashing out of the race on lap eleven.

- Hector Barbera starts from the front row for the sixth successive race. Barbera will be aiming for his first podium finish at the Brno circuit.

- Mattia Pasini starts from the front row for only the second time this year – the first was at the Portuguese Grand Prix.

- Thomas Luthi won the125cc race at the Czech GP in 2005 on his way to taking the world title.

- Mika Kallio has been on the podium for the last three years at Brno, in 2005 and 2006 in the 125cc class and last year he was third in the 250cc race.

- Lukas Pesek will be aiming to improve on the previous best result in the 250cc class by a Czech rider at the current Brno circuit which is tenth by Jakub Smrz in 2006. Pesek finished third in the 125cc last year at the Czech Grand Prix.
