Honda Gresini riders left with work to do
Saturday, 13 September 2008
San Carlo Honda Gresini colleagues Alex de Angelis and Shinya Nakano found the going tough in qualifying at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.
Alex de Angelis and Shinya Nakano have their work cut out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday if they are to make up for their modest qualifying results in the first ever MotoGP race at the new Grand Prix layout.
Alex de Angelis - twelfth
`I´m unhappy about the opportunity I missed today to improve my time just before the end of the session. During the last lap, in fact, I met a rider who was getting back to his box and that made me lose time. In any case I´m happy about the work we are doing with Bridgestone because today I improved even with qualifying tyres. I´m satisfied about my race pace, because I could be among the fastest riders. So I feel confident and hopeful for tomorrow race. Anyway starting from the fourth row is not easy and it will be important to make a good start and to be focused during the first laps.´
Shinya Nakano - seventeenth
`This afternoon the track was completely dry and I could push everywhere, because the setting of the bike was good. Unfortunately I couldn´t improve my times with qualifying tyres, even if during the last lap I could have earned something if I had not met a group of riders who slowed me down, since they were getting back to their boxes. Tomorrow the race will not be easy, in any case I´ll do my best to finish a good race.´
