Iannone restarts 125cc action with fastest free practice time

A last lap surge in the opening free practice session for the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky put Andrea Iannone in the early driving seat, as the 125cc World Championship witnessed its first action since July 13th.

The Italian was over half a second faster than any other lower cylinder category rider at the Brno circuit, laying down a 2´10.510 lap on fifteenth and final turn of the morning. The I.C. Team rider was faster than Jack&Jones WRB´s Nico Terol in second place, whilst series leader Mike di Meglio was close behind as he attempted to keep his upward momentum rolling.

Fourth quickest in the morning run was Gabor Talmacsi, the Hungarian rider who provokes an invasion of supporters at the Brno circuit every year. They saw their hero and reigning 125cc World Champion under a second down on Iannone´s lap, with Pol Espargaro, Simone Corsi, Raffaele de Rosa, Bradley Smith, Efren Vazquez and Sandro Cortese also featuring in the top ten.

Under dry conditions that the riders will be hoping continue throughout the weekend, none came unstuck and the session passed without incident.
