Lorenzo attends Barcelona show with Christian Vieri

As part of his sponsorship deal with Italian clothing label Sweet Years, Jorge Lorenzo attended a trade show in Barcelona on Wednesday, visiting the company´s stand at the Bread & Butter convention with Italian soccer star Christian Vieri, who co-owns the brand with Paolo Maldini.

Commenting on his work with the Italian firm, Lorenzo said, `It is a really natural fit with Sweet Years because we are young, happy people who love bright colours and I think it is a company which is developing rapidly like me.´

Reflecting on his most recent MotoGP result at Assen and his comeback from his Catalunya crash in early June, Lorenzo added, `We need to look at it positively. To finish the race was important, and even though it was in sixth place that wasn´t bad. We need to get through races because I´m not 100% recovered from my injuries and another crash would have made things worse. So it´s better to be safe, to keep gaining experience and get the bike set-up a bit better, so that when we are ready we can go on the attack.´

On bouncing back from his series of crashes in May and June, Lorenzo stated, `I have been working out really hard in the gym because I was unable to do any cardiovascular training for nearly two months. I was missing a bit of fitness so I have been working hard on the bike. These two weeks basically give me a chance to train and make sure I am in shape for the next race in Germany.´

For his part, Vieri said of the young Fiat Yamaha rider, `Lorenzo is a real talent and this year he is performing brilliantly again. We think he is the ideal guy to represent our brand.´

`I am a big fan of MotoGP, although I just have a scooter myself!´ joked the former Italian international. `But seriously, whenever I get the chance I always like to follow the races.´
