Nakano looking for more despite solid start

San Carlo Honda Gresini´s Shinya Nakano produced a best time of 1´35.047 in Friday free practice to end the day seventh fastest as the Alice Grand Prix de France weekend got underway, but the 30 year-old was still unhappy at the conclusion of proceedings.

`Seventh, I think, is a good place for the first day, but it is difficult to say I am very happy because I am having trouble with cornering,´ admitted Nakano. `At each turn I was struggling and it was difficult to follow the other guys. I just got the good lap time at the end because I was following somebody. That is why I am not very happy.´

`But anyway, we did a lot of laps today so we have plenty of data and I will have a think with the mechanics about what we can do tomorrow.´

On the advantage gained following the receipt of a clutch update, Nakano added, `We have got a new clutch from HRC and this is better for preventing `hopping´, which was my main problem before. I was actually expecting it to make more of a difference but for sure it helps.´
