Pradita delighted with first World Championship points
Moto2™ is powered byIndonesian rider takes first top fifteen placing in China, the first man from his country to do so.
18 year-old Doni Tata Pradita may have left Shanghai with a light shoulder injury, but the Indonesian rider was on cloud nine after taking his first World Championship points.
The Yamaha Pertamina Indonesia teenager was one of the competitors to ride better in the wet conditions of the Chinese circuit, finishing fifteenth and holding out amidst a drying track and degrading rubber.
Aside from his early practice crash, Pradita was once again competing against the odds after a small mistake during the race.
`I had a good start, but at the end of the long straight I missed my braking point, and it was back to square one when all the riders that I had passed before overtook me. I retook Lai and Gomez, and Imre Toth even though he was a lot faster on the straights. I was finally able to put a big enough gap between us to avoid him catching me,´ said the Yogyakarta native, the first Indonesian full time rider in the World Championship and now the first to score points.
`Lai was able to beat me to fourteenth; his bike accelerated faster and I couldn´t do anything about that. In any case, I am delighted to earn my first point.´
