On a day of several crashes at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya, Repsol KTM rider Esteve Rabat suffered a nasty accident and is currently in intensive care in a Barcelona hospital.
After a crash right at the end of the Friday 125cc qualifying practice at the Circuit de Catalunya, 19 year-old Repsol KTM rider Esteve Rabat was transported to the Hospital General de Cataluña, where he remains in intensive care.
The Catalan teenager lost the front end of his KTM single cylinder bike on the Banc Sabadell corner, crashing heavily and sustaining a heavy blow to his head and neck – according the medical staff at the track.
The popular youngster was conscious as he was transferred to a specialist hospital just outside Barcelona, where he will remain under 24 hour supervision and will undergo further assessment.
