Rabat on road to recovery
Repsol KTM rider Esteve Rabat is conscious and already showing signs of recovery after spending a night in intensive care following his Catalunya crash.
After his qualifying practice crash on Friday at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya and subsequent emergency transfer to hospital, Repsol KTM rider Esteve Rabat regained consciousness on Saturday morning at the Catalunya General Hospital and is recovering satisfactorily.
Rabat lost consciousness on arrival at the hospital on Friday and remained sedated throughout the night, but responded positively this morning to a reduction in sedatives.
After an earlier scan on Friday afternoon an additional scan late last night confirmed that Rabat has no cerebral injuries. The Catalan rider will remain in hospital for at least another 48 hours, in order to undergo further medical tests on Monday.
