Racing Numbers for Donington Park

With less than 24 hours before the first practice sessions for the bwin.com British Grand Prix, here are some of the intriguing Racing Numbers for the Donington Park date.

451 – The number of 125cc Grand Prix races that have taken place since the last win by a British rider – Chas Mortimer at the Spanish GP in 1973.

130 – The number of premier class Grand Prix races that have taken place since the last time a British rider finished on the podium in the premier class – Jeremy McWilliams at Donington in 2000.

49 – Marco Simoncelli's 250cc victory in Catalunya was the 49th win in Grand Prix racing for the Gilera factory, broken down by class as follows: 500cc: 35, 350cc: 4, 250cc:2 and 125cc: 8.

29 - With his victory in Catalunya, Dani Pedrosa now has 29 GP wins in all classes – the same as Loris Capirossi. Of the current riders only Rossi has more GP victories.

3 – Following the crash of Loris Capirossi and Toni Elias being black-flagged in Barcelona, there are only three riders who have scored points in all seven MotoGP races held so far this year: Valentino Rossi, Dani Pedrosa and Shinya Nakano.
