Red Bull MotoGP Academy pair make CEV debuts

Red Bull MotoGP Academy pair Cameron Beaubier and Danny Kent made their maiden Spanish national championship (CEV - Campeonato de España de Velocidad) appearances in Valencia on Sunday, finishing seventh and eighth respectively.

The winner of the first 125cc race of the year was German Honda rider Marcel Schrotter, while Aprilia equipped Spaniards Adrian Martin and Luis J. Salom were also on the podium.

Beaubier himself might have been able to finish in the top three had he not suffered some technical problems. Meanwhile, coming home just behind his Academy colleague the less experienced Kent caused a pleasant surprise with his accomplished riding.

Both riders will be back in CEV action next month at Catalunya´s Montmelo circuit, which like Valencia is of course a permanent venue in the MotoGP World Championship, which the young pair aspire to eventually compete in.
