Resurgent Edwards ready to race

Setting the third fastest time of the day in Le Mans, and having found an adequate race setup, Colin Edwards is ready to go in France.

Always quotable and always honest in his assessment, Colin Edwards has added a new aspect to his persona this season: In practice, he is always fast from the start.

The Tech 3 Yamaha rider was in fine form both on and off-track on Friday in Le Mans, joking that –confident after finishing less than a tenth of a second slower than pacesetter Dani Pedrosa, he may treat himself to a Saturday off.

`I´m ready to go racing in about thirty minutes,´ said the `Texan Tornado´ in his own inimitable style. `I´ve got a race tyre that I like, a race setup… we´re ready to go. I might just hang out on the beach all day tomorrow, and come and have fun with these guys on Sunday.´

Should Edwards decide to go for his second successive pole in both the 2008 season and at Le Mans tomorrow, he will be doing so with settings used to such good effect in Shanghai.

`We´ve kind of brought over the China settings to Le Mans, to see if it would work, and they seem to be working pretty good…tomorrow is going to be fast,´ concluded the resurgent American.
