Talmacsi warms up fastest in 125cc

Reigning World Champion prepares for front row start by edging out poleman Bradley Smith.

125cc World Champion and Shanghai front row starter Gabor Talmacsi was the fastest out of the blocks in the lower cylinder category warmup, with a time of 2´26.714.

The Hungarian was fourth quickest in yesterday´s second qualifying session, and now goes in pursuit of his first win of his title defending year. The rider that he will have to get past to do so, Polaris World´s Bradley Smith, was second in the early morning run, 0.759 down on his rival.

Raffaele de Rosa showed no lasting effects of his Saturday crash in third, although team-mate Pablo Nieto will not be riding the second Onde 2000 KTM machine after breaking his collarbone in his own qualifying incident. Jules Cluzel will also miss the race through injury.

Michael Ranseder, Sandro Cortese and championship leader Simone Corsi were also amongst the top six in the warmup session.
