Terol takes a rain check in soaking 125cc session
On a wet Brno track, Nico Terol was the fastest 125cc rider on Saturday morning.
The 125cc riders have had at least one wet practice session at almost every Grand Prix event this season, and rainfall was once again present on track for the second lower cylinder category free practice at Brno on Saturday morning. The quickest rider in the latest wet outing was Nico Terol, who left his fastest lap until the very end of the morning session.
The Jack&Jones WRB rider laid down a 2´19.680 lap of the Czech Republic circuit, less than a tenth of a second ahead of wet weather specialist Andrea Iannone. Both are penciled in for an appearance on the front row as a result of yesterday´s opening qualifying session, as is the morning´s third fastest man, Bradley Smith.
Lorenzo Zanetti, Raffaele de Rosa, Michael Ranseder and Scott Redding also starred in the drenched session, with times over ten seconds off the damp qualifying runs of Friday afternoon. Provisional poleman Gabor Talmacsi was eighth onboard his Mapfre Aspar Aprilia, whilst Marc Marquez and Danny Webb rounded off the top ten.
World Championship leader Mike di Meglio –a notoriously good wet rider- could only manage fifteenth in the morning session.
