125cc team WTR have today announced the retention of Stefano Bianco for the 2008 season.
125cc team WTR have today announced the retention of Stefano Bianco for the 2008 season. Team member Matteo Napolitano confirmed the Italian's renovation with the lower cylinder category outfit, stating that "Stefano is a good rider and, despite suffering a big accident last year, we did a good job together over the course of the season."
That's not to say that WTR will remain entirely the same; Bianco will become the sole rider in the team, although wildcard spots to run alongside the Italian at select Grands prix have not been ruled out.
"It was a difficult decision to only have one rider," said Napolitano on the move. "However, we have considered it more important to concentrate our efforts in one direction and hope that this gamble pays off with results."
Bianco, who has been attempting to regain full fitness, will be riding an Aprilia painted in the colours of the Republic of San Marino for the WTR team.
