The new version of motogp.com welcomes all users and encourages you to explore several new innovative features of the re-launched official website of the MotoGP World Championship.
Followers of MotoGP throughout the world had a taste of what was to come with the beta version of the new website which went online at the opening round of the 2008 season in Qatar - and as of today, 15 April 2008, you can enjoy the fully fledged version of the new website.
A simpler look and feel is quicker to load and much easier on the eye, with all recent news accessible from the homepage and in a larger font. The new site will retain several key features from the existing site, such as all the latest news direct from the MotoGP paddock, live video coverage of races, video interviews and features, live timing, results and statistics.
Following consultation with site regulars in a survey last year, however, a number of new or improved elements have been introduced, including:
- Highlighted top content
The most relevant key content will have a dedicated, prominent slot on the homepage to allow ease of access.
- Teams + Riders pages
Dedicated homepages for all MotoGP teams and MotoGP riders where users can find all relevant content related to the participants.
- Event pages
Dedicated homepages for all events (e.g. GPs and tests) where users can find all content related to specific events.
- Championship pages
Homepages for all three categories, MotoGP, 250cc, 125cc, containing all relevant content related to each specific championship.
- Increased exposure to web search engines
Helping users to find the official source for all MotoGP related content via their web search engine of choice.
- Improved navigation
Easier navigation allows users to find content and browse through the web site.
- Tag Navigation - Related Content
A new tag navigation system permits users to find related stories and shortcuts to related multimedia content.
- Most Popular feature
This feature will highlight the pages currently being read most by visitors to the website.
- RSS
Full RSS coverage of the site, plus specific RSS feeds for every MotoGP team and every MotoGP rider.
- A-Z Index
All the core sections of the website will be alphabetically ordered, to help users quickly find the content they are looking for.
- MotoGP Legends
Every MotoGP Legend now has his own page, including a profile and related content (Coming soon).
- Riders Blogs
Exclusive new content with a blog from riders in each of the three classes. (Coming soon).
- MotoGP Routes
An insider's guide to each MotoGP venue, with travel information on the surrounding areas to enhance the fan experience. (Coming soon).
Please note: Depending on user browser type and IP location some pages of the new motogp.com website may produce short term functionality issues.
