Wild card debut for Red Bull MotoGP Academy rider Folger at Brno

Jonas Folger will make his World Championship debut this weekend at Brno, a reward for his persistence as part of the Red Bull MotoGP Academy youth initiative. The German teenager has been building up his experience of World Championship tracks at select European events in 2008, with a first win coming at precisely the Czech Republic circuit where he will have his initial taste of 125cc action on the world stage.

The youngster came out on top in the Alpe Adria Cup in June, following on from second places in Sachsenring and Mugello events. The win from pole position at Brno stands Folger in good stead for a smooth adaptation to the track on his wildcard debut, at which he will fly the Red Bull MotoGP Academy flag with the scheme´s 125cc KTM machinery.

Other 125cc wildcard participants for the Cardion AB Grand Prix ceske Republiky come from the Eastern European country itself, with Lukas Sembera, Michal Prasek, Andrea Touskova and Karel Pesek (brother of 250cc star Lukas) entering their home Grand Prix.
