Hayden and Stoner in place as Wrooom event kicks off

Ducati riders looking forward to skiing and signing at Madonna di Campiglio.

Following new teammate Nicky Hayden´s spectacular arrival at Madonna di Campiglio on Monday, Ducati factory team rider Casey Stoner made a more conventional entrance for the Italian outfit´s annual presentation. The Australian pulled up at the event in an Alfa Romeo decked out in Ducati colours, to begin his third year of participation at the ski resort.

Stoner and Hayden will be the main attractions of the Tuesday schedule at Wrooom, taking part in a press conference and autograph session before Ducati Corse head Claudio Domenicali takes to the stage to talk about the Desmosedici GP9. Both riders expressed their excitement at what lies ahead for them this week upon arrival, but don´t expect former MotoGP World Champion Hayden to be dominating the slopes any time soon.

`I´m a true beginner at skiing, so if you see me on the bunny slopes don´t laugh at me,´ joked the Ducati newcomer. `It´s an awesome experience to be here -the first time that I´ve ever been up in real mountains like this- and I´m kind of overwhelmed by the event that has been put together.´

Stoner was in more familiar territory, attending his third Wrooom event in a break from recuperation following scaphoid surgery.

`I get less nervous every time that I come here, and it´s always a lot of fun, I´ve been training hard, so it´s nice to relax for a little bit,´ says the 2007 MotoGP titlist.

More coverage from Wrooom will be available on motogp.com this evening (Tuesday) and for the remainder of the five-day event.
