Roberts Sr. to compete in PGA charity tournament

Former MotoGP World Champion to compete against celebrities and professionals in Californian event.

MotoGP Legend Kenny Roberts Sr. will be getting back into the swing of sporting competition next month, as the American takes part in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am celebrity charity golf tournament. Roberts Sr. will be teeing up alongside a host of famous names in the event, which takes place from February 9th-15th just a wayward shot away from his Salinas home in California.

The tournament is a 72 hole PGA championship set up back in 1930 by musician Bing Crosby, as a way of raising money for good causes. It teams the likes of Roberts Sr., Hollywood star Bill Murray, World Champion surfer Kelly Slater and another Kenny –crooner Kenny G- with professional golfers in pursuit of a $6.1m charity purse.
