Terol `more ambitious´with factory Aprilia RSA

Spaniard eyeing regular podium finishes and a title fight with new bike at his disposal.

Previously a solid mid-pack rider, Nico Terol was one of the revelations of 2008 in the 125cc class. A memorable year for the Spaniard saw him take a first Grand Prix podium, followed up by a maiden race victory in an abbreviated Indianapolis round of the series. These performances and an overall fifth place finish in the standings have kept the rewards coming for Terol, and this year he will aim to build on his success with a new Aprilia RSA factory bike.

`This year I´ll have the official Aprilia; before I had a bike that on paper wasn´t the fastest, but still went very well,´ says the 20 year-old. `I´m very excited about testing the RSA for the first time, to see how it rides, but I´ll be taking it relatively easy. I want to keep taking steps forward up until the start of the World Championship in April.

`I´m more ambitious because of this. I want to be amongst the top three at every race, and fighting for the title,´ Terol continues. `There will be a lot of rivals, starting closest to home with my teammate Simone Corsi. I could give you a long list of challengers, because this class is so open and requires hard work all the time.´

Terol´s training for the task at hand has included flat-skiing in Andorra and a stay in the Sierra Nevada. He will not be straying too far afield for his first test of 2009 either; a first encounter with the RSA is scheduled to take place at Valencia in the middle of next month.
