After several months of negotiations Hector Faubel has been officially announced as a 250cc Stop and Go rider for the forthcoming season.
Riding Honda machinery in 2009, Hector Faubel´s signature with the Stop and Go 250cc team has been officially announced as the lower cylinder category teams test at Jerez.
After seven seasons on Aprilia machinery in the 125cc and 250cc classes the 25 year-old rider is looking forward to the new challenge as he tests this week in southern Spain.
Faubel, who has been a long-term representative of Jorge Martinez Aspar´s teams until his exciting new move to Honda, commented, `I am very happy with my new team as I can see there is a very good ambiance for working and this is very important for me, because if I get on well with them and I enjoy ridding the bike, we can have great races.´
On his initial experiences with his new machinery at the Jerez test he added, `It is still very early to talk, as I have to do more testing with the Honda RSW, but I really liked the bike. It´s very agile and I also like the brakes.´
Thai rider Ratthapark Wilairot will share the Stop and Go pit-box with Spaniard Faubel, who last year competed in the 250ccc World Championship after a successful final season in 125cc.
Stop and Go team owner Eduardo Perales stated, `The team and I are very excited that a rider like Hector Faubel is finally joining us. It makes our structure bigger, but it is necessary to confront big challenges, and our team always wanted to have two riders. I´m sure that Feem (Wilairot) and Faubel will get on very well together and this can lead us to some great results.´
