Polish television deal for MotoGP announced in Warsaw

Polish television broadcasters SportKlub to screen MotoGP across Poland until the end of the 2011 season.

Following a new agreement with the commercial and television rights-holders to the MotoGP World Championship, Dorna Sports, Polish television channel SportKlub will provide extensive coverage in Poland for the next three seasons, as announced over the weekend at the annual Warsaw motorshow.

SportKlub is a fast growing sports television network focused on central Europe, operating in eight countries and with 11 fully localised and customised channels. As of this season they will show all MotoGP practice and qualifying sessions and all races live and exclusively in Poland.

The deal was announced at a press conference in Warsaw at the city’s annual motorshow, at which MotoGP star Loris Capirossi was the star guest.

SportKlub management have declared that the station will work in close partnership with Dorna Sports in their quest to provide Polish viewers top quality coverage of MotoGP.

Michael Bunio, Channel Manager of SportKlub Poland, stated: “This is one of our new, high profile TV rights agreements and fits perfect our other top motorsport events, as well as other high profile live sports rights like the German Bundesliga and the English FA Cup, which SportKlub broadcasts exclusively in Poland.”
