Corsi and Terol satisfied with first 2009 outing

Simone Corsi and Nico Terol concluded their first test of the year earlier this week at Valencia with exactly the same best times at the Spanish circuit.

Good conditions on Tuesday at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit allowed Simone Corsi and Nico Terol to conclude their two day test with a highly productive session, which saw them register equal best times of 1’41.30s.

Corsi, the 2008 125cc World Championship runner-up, completed 56 laps of the Cheste track before commenting, “It was a good session, I was able to put in plenty of time on track and I had a good feeling with the bike. The work in the box has all gone smoothly. I wanted to check that everything was in place and correctly set-up after three months away and the pace was good. I had a little crash but it was nothing serious.”

For Terol, meanwhile, the Valencia visit was also a positive exercise, the Spanish rider having undertaken his first test with his new Aprilia RSA. He stated, “It was a good test and we spent the time working on various settings to adjust the geometry of the new bike. I am still getting used to it, but I am starting to feel more and more comfortable on the machine. The times don’t matter so much at the moment and I can go home feeling positive, because I really like the bike and the team have done a good job.”

Corsi and Terol, who ride under the management of former double 250cc World Champion Sito Pons, have two further tests scheduled before the Official MotoGP test at the end of March.
