Mugello buzzing ahead of round five

The action at the Gran Premio d’Italia Alice gets underway on Friday afternoon.

The MotoGP paddock awoke to some brilliant Tuscan sunshine at Mugello on Friday morning as the World Championship participants made their final preparations for what is one of the most highly anticipated events on the calendar.

Before the action commences this afternoon the most experienced rider on the MotoGP grid and a man who is on home territory this weekend, Loris Capirossi, will be giving motogp.com a guided tour of the circuit, whilst the details of his Suzuki GSV-R 800cc prototype will be explained by his team in pit lane.

The first free practice sessions of the weekend take place at 12.40pm (125cc), 1.55pm (MotoGP) and 3.10pm (250cc) - each lasting for an hour and each available to follow directly on motogp.com via our live timing service.

Indeed, if you are on the move and have an iPhone you can follow the sessions with the new MotoGP iPhone application which already ranks amongst the most popular sports applications on the Apple App Store.
