Jarvis congratulates Rossi on century victory

Lin Jarvis, the Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director, celebrated Valentino Rossi’s 100th GP victory on the podium with the Italian star and then spoke to

After he stepped off the rostrum with Fiat Yamaha pair Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis made time to speak to about Rossi’s remarkable 100 career wins.

“It’s an amazing achievement and he has had an amazing career,” said the Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director. “We are watching a living legend. It was wonderful at the end of the race when he unveiled the photo display of all of his career and all of his wins and he’s a star!”

“It was an honour for me to be there on the podium and share this special moment with Valentino. This is like a second home Grand Prix for us because we are based here, Yamaha Europe is in The Netherlands, so to get this victory with a one-two of total domination is awesome.”

Having seen four Yamahas cross the line in the top six Jarvis also commented on Colin Edwards’ and James Toseland’s respective fourth and sixth places.

“It’s impressive and I was very happy to see that. Firstly with Colin, he has shown a lot of promise all year but in the races has not delivered until now I would say. His performance today was very strong and he was lapping through most of the race at the same pace as Casey Stoner so that was very good.”

“James is obviously back in tune. We did some work together with our top engineers after the Barcelona race, they made some changes. He has adjusted his riding style and we have adjusted the bike to suit him better and you can see the results. I am very happy for him because he needed a break.”
