Cluzel to return at Sachsenring

French rider Jules Cluzel will be back in action at the next round in Germany.

Matteoni Racing Team rider Jules Cluzel, who traveled to California for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix as a spectator, is expected to be back on track in Germany for the next round having recovered quickly from an injury sustained in The Netherlands.

The young 250cc rider took a trip to Laguna Seca to follow the MotoGP race and caught up with medical staff at the Clinica Mobile for a check-up on his shoulder which he hurt at Assen, where he was given some positive news.

Cluzel’s manager Paolo Tajana, from the Matteoni Racing Team, told, “He is moving his shoulder well and we therefore believe that he should be able to ride in Germany without any problems. In fact when he fractured his collarbone in a previous crash at Le Mans the bone hardened when it healed and when he damaged the bone again in Assen it didn’t hurt so much. The problem should heal up again without the need for any surgery.”

Tajana went on to explain some of the troubles Cluzel has run into this season since his unexpected podium in the first race of the year in Qatar, saying, “We know he has great potential. He is still young and very excitable and I think the Qatar result unbalanced him. He has been wanting to repeat that success all year, the press have labeled him inconsistent, he has been trying too hard and he has ended up making some mistakes.”

Cluzel is currently 12th in the 250cc standings, with 33 points.
