Simón and rain maintain 125c status quo on Saturday morning

Spaniard top of the board in second 125cc Free Practice session in Sachsenring.

Two 125cc sessions down, and just thirty minutes of completely dry track time have been available for the lower cylinder category in Sachsenring. Early rainfall once again kept times down in the second free practice session for the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, although large sections of the asphalt had evaporated the residue by the end of the forty-minute run.

Julián Simón remained the fastest rider on track, but even he was unable to best his afternoon time from Friday under cooler conditions. His 1’28.803 lap in the morning session was over two-tenths of a second slower than his previous timesheet-topper.

Simón leapfrogged Sergio Gadea and Bradley Smith –his two Bancaja Aspar teammates- at the end of the session, in which the duo managed to best their own initial laps from day one.

Marc Marquez and home rider Stefan Bradl were the only other two riders within a second of Simón’s marker, ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying session in Germany.
