Edwards visits U.S. military base at Camp Atterbury

American MotoGP star Colin Edwards visited U.S. soldiers at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, during the summer break.

Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s American MotoGP star Colin Edwards visited U.S. soldiers at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana, during the short summer break - as can be seen in the accompanying free video.

Edwards, from Texas, will return to Indiana later this month to compete in the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, from 28th-30th August. It will be the second running for MotoGP at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after the historic maiden visit last year.

While at Camp Atterbury, Edwards sampled weapons at the Engagement Skills Trainer (an indoor simulated firing range), ate lunch with soldiers and participated in an armored car roll-over procedure.

Afterwards the satellite Yamaha rider commented, “Throughout traveling around the world, whenever we are in Germany, or England, or Japan, or whatever races we go to we always see military folks who come to watch and it is great to have them as fans. Sport is sport and whether people are in the military or not they are welcome as fans, but it is really great to have these guys with us.”
