Beaubier optimistic about Indy participation

Red Bull KTM’s Cameron Beaubier hopes he can make his first home appearance in the World Championship this weekend as he recovers from a collar bone injury.

Californian rider Cameron Beaubier hopes to get the all-clear from Clinica Mobile to participate in his biggest race of the year this weekend, at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, having crashed and injured himself in practice at Brno which meant he missed the Czech 125cc contest.

Dr. Costa’s medical team in the Clinica Mobile unit will therefore examine the young Red Bull MotoGP Academy product on the eve of the GP, to see whether his collar bone injury has healed sufficiently in order for him to ride at The Brickyard.

Beaubier commented, “I still have a bit of pain but I am much better. I think I will be a lot better by Friday and totally recovered although I still have to get the OK from Dr. Costa. After the last few races I stayed in Europe, so it was great to be able to have a bit of rest at home.”

He also admitted, “I am a little nervous because it is special for me to race in the USA. All my family will be there, for me though it is like a normal race but at a circuit I have never been to. We will have to work calmly, get to know the circuit bit by bit, and enjoy what will be a special race.”
