Rolfo to test another Moto2 prototype in Valencia

Italian will ride Laglisse Team’s Yamaha-powered 600cc machine in two-day test.

Moto2 ‘gun for hire’ Roberto Rolfo will be back onboard a 600cc prototype this week, continuing to test machinery that will be developed for the forthcoming intermediate class.

Rolfo is set for two days of testing from this Wednesday in Valencia, trying out the Laglisse Team’s early version of their proposed Moto2 bike. Although the Moto2 class will only feature Honda engines, the team have yet to adapt their design to the single-motor regulation and will instead run a Yamaha R6 derivation for Rolfo’s test ride. Chassis Specialist Eskil Suter is currently developing a housing suitable for the change in engine.

Former MotoGP rider Rolfo has previously ridden a Moto2 machine for the Blusens team in Jerez back in May, and will be a sought after commodity for a ride in the category as teams look to solidify their projects for 2010. His efforts at this latest test will also aid Dunlop’s quest to find a competitive tyre for the series.
