Balatonring Team host official presentation in Budapest
Gábor Talmácsi and his 2009 sponsors hosted their official team launch in the Hungarian capital on Tuesday.
Ahead of his arrival in the 250cc class for the 2009 season former 125cc World Champion Gábor Talmácsi proudly presented the Balatonring Team for the forthcoming campaign in Budapest yesterday.
The launch event took place at the Hotel Gresham Palace, with Talmácsi’s sponsors, team members and Aspar CEO Jorge Martínez all in attendance, along with around 100 specially invited guests.
Still under Martínez “Aspar’s” guidance this year Talmácsi is set to undertake his debut 250cc season onboard an official Aprilia RSA, in a team focused solely on his efforts.
The Hungarian rider stated, “I’m really thankful for all the support I am getting and the opportunity which Jorge and my sponsors are giving me in the 250cc category.”
The 28 year-old continued, “I am ready to fight for race wins and I want to put my team and my country in the headlines. It’s an honour to be riding on a factory Aprilia with the Hungarian colours on display. I’ll keep working as hard as I always have since I joined the Aspar structure. Even though we are a new team I feel like I am really at home with these guys, under Jorge’s management.”
Martínez "Aspar", meanwhile, thanked sponsors Grupo Milton, Logistic Land and Sedesa, before stating, “Gabor has been highly successful since joining the Aspar team in 2007 and his aim is to keep up that good work this year. Although he is going up to the 250cc class this season he will be working with the same people who helped him to win the 125cc title in 2007.”
