Corsi splits with Jack&Jones WRB

2008 125cc World Championship runner-up Simone Corsi and the Jack&Jones WRB team have parted ways by mutual agreement, following an unexpectedly difficult start to the 2009 season. Poor results and the inability for either party to find a solution to the problems encountered are the reasons listed for the split.

“We wish Simone the best of luck in this new phase of his career, and our sporting and personal relationship remains very good. The situation was hard for both him and ourselves, due to the lack of good results,” said Team Manager Javier Sabio in a statement.

Corsi is currently twenty-third in the overall standings after obtaining just four points from the opening six races of the year. He moves to the Fontana Racing team -alongside rookie Lorenzo Savadori- in an attempt to turn his season around, whilst his vacated spot will be occupied by newcomer and Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup runner-up Luis Salom.
