De Puniet ready for action despite summer injury

After his good form in the first phase of the MotoGP season, culminating in a brilliant podium at Donington Park, Randy de Puniet will be raring to go at the Cardion AB Czech Republic Grand Prix, in spite of the ankle injury he suffered on the weekend after the race in the UK.

The Frenchman was motocross training to maintain his fitness in France over the break when he suffered a crash and fractured his left ankle, but a brief surgical intervention and some hard rehabilitation work have seen him recuperate rapidly. The satellite Honda man will therefore be ready to ride again at Brno on Friday, much to the relief of his team and his fans.

Commenting on the situation ahead of round eleven De Puniet stated, “Immediately after the surgery I was unsure about things and thought I would have not been able to race in Brno. But thanks to the rehabilitation programme my ankle is improving day by day. I can easily move it and I will be fit for the race. Brno is one of my favourite race tracks and the good results we have got in the first part of the season give us more motivation to be at the front.”
